Field Trips

Field trips should not be viewed as a family outing but as an extension of the school curriculum. Students have the fun of learning new things, the joy of sharing the trip with friends, and the excitement of doing something different from the normal daily routine. On many trips, parents are invited to join the class as a chaperone. As a parent, you may be unaware of our field trip policies, and that may inadvertently create an awkward situation for the teacher, yourself, or students on the trip. To eliminate awkward or embarrassing situations, please read and adhere to the following field trip guidelines.

All chaperones must have the following:

  • Approved school volunteer application on file. Applications are available in the front office.
  • Megan's Law clearance.
  • Tuberculosis clearance. Proof of clearance must be turned in with the volunteer application.
  • Approval from the classroom teacher to chaperone the field trip. Please be aware that space is limited for chaperones.

The following is NOT permitted:

  • Driving to the field trip destination without volunteer clearance or without prior approval from the classroom teacher and/or administration.
  • Bringing other children (younger or older) on the field trip.

If you need to confirm your approval to attend the class field trip please see your child's teacher, or if you are unsure of your volunteer status please see Mrs. Debbie Narcisse in the front office. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions regarding this policy, feel free to come to the main school office.
